Things To Do

Driving Distances to Places of Interest
It’s two minutes to Taylor Bay Beach. Four minutes to our local 7-11 store at the end of the street. Ten minutes to the airport, supermarket, houses of worship, cafes, and downtown Provo.

Everything’s nearby. The distances to the farthest restaurants, bars, tour excursions, shopping and golf is fifteen minutes. The island is small, so nothing is that far away and basically one road leads to almost everything. So it’s quite hard to get lost.

Relaxing
There’s a lot to do when you make Emerald Shores home base for your Turks and Caicos vacation, but we wholeheartedly recommend some serious relaxation.

If you have a little stress, why not stretch out in one of our hammocks, listening just to the waves on the shore, breathing in the cool trade winds blowing gently across the property?

Or have a rest on one of the sun-beds by your private pool. Take a breather in water seat with your favorite drink from the wet bar, or lay out on the practically deserted white-sand beach at Taylor Bay.

But for those of you with more action in mind, there are many other things to do on the Island, such as:

• Horseback riding (morning, afternoon, & evening rides)
• Parasailing
• Scuba Diving (no experience necessary)
• Snorkeling
• Fishing
• Island hoping
• A day at Beaches all exclusive resort (great for kids & adults)
• Island tours
• Water Skiing
• Banana boat rides
• Undersea explorer. A must to see the reef and its inhabitants (without ever getting wet)
• Shopping (many different shopping areas all over)
• Golf (18 hole course ranked one of the Caribbean’s 10 best)
• Miniature golf
• Whale watching
• Spas
• Boat rentals
• Wind surfing
• Kite boarding
• Bicycling
• Tennis
• Kayaking

Note: for most activities, book ahead to ensure your booking when you arrive.

Dining Out
There are many fine restaurants. As you might imagine, fresh seafood is a specialty. Or just enjoy a cool drink at places such as Danny Boy’s Pub, which serves great Irish food and drink.

For something different, a nice place to try is one of the local food stands along the beach in Blue Hills area, where the locals walk into the ocean, pick up a live Conch, and prepare it next to you (how’s that for fresh?)

Dining In
There are a number of supermarkets around, but the IGA Supermarket is the most modern one, with the largest variety of foods, and just about anything you can get back home.
